PROVERBS 1

PROVERBS
A proverb is a short, wise saying.
[collection of http://jauhari-englishhomework.blogspot.com]
- action speaks louder than words
(what you do is important than what you say)
- all that glitters is not gold
(things that look attractive are not always good)
- blood is thicker than water
(family ties are stronger than any relationship)
- birds of a feather flock together
(people who are alike often spend time together)
- better to be safe than sorry
(better to be careful than risk doing something you may regret)
- charity begins at home
(you should help your own family first before helping others)
- every cloud has a silver lining
(something good will always come out of every bad situation)
- a friend in need is a friend indeed
(a person who helps you when you are in trouble is a true friend)
- the early bird catches the worm
(who does something first before others will have an advantage)
- look before you leap
(before rushing to do something think over it carefully)
- two heads are better than one
- time is money
- strike while the iron is hot
- Rome was not built in a day
- practice makes perfect
- prevention is better than cure
- it's no use crying over spilt milk
- many hands make light work
- first come, first served
