THE UNIVERSITY
Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), established under the UTAR Education Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, was officially launched on 13 August 2002.
The establishment was timely with the recognition of the private education industry by the Government of Malaysia as a vital engine in stimulating and sustaining the growth of intellectual capital to meet the complex needs of an increasingly knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy.
Guided by its vision to be a premier University for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge and expertise while emphasising on the holistic development of individuals for nation building, UTAR has made impressive strides in establishing a strong reputation as a comprehensive University with dedication to achieving excellence in teaching and research.
CAMPUSES

UTAR is a dynamic University with four thriving Campuses - three in Klang Valley and one in Kampar, Perak. The Campuses in Klang Valley are located in Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, and Bandar Sungai Long. Students will be based at one of the following Campuses depending on their choice of programme.
PETALING JAYA CAMPUS 

Situated in Section 13, Petaling Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Petaling Jaya Campus is conveniently located within major residential and business districts. The Campus offers students diverse learning facilities including well-equipped libraries, computer laboratories, science laboratories, etc. to enhance their academic and personal development. The Faculty of Creative Studies(FCI), Centre for Extension Education(CEE), Centre for Foundation Studies(CFS PJ), Institute of Chinese Studies(ICS PJ), and Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research (IPSR) are located in this campus.

KUALA LUMPUR CAMPUSSUNGAI LONG CAMPUS


This Campus is located in Bandar Sungai Long, a 200-acre self-contained residential township. Sungai Long Campus has a 10-storey purpose-built facility and is conveniently situated near restaurants, banks and other amenities. The abundant availability of residential houses, condominiums and apartments for rental at reasonable prices makes studying at this place convenient and affordable. This Campus has its own library, cafeteria and computer laboratories, catering to the academic and social needs of the students. Two UTAR faculties are located in this campus, namely : Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) and Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS).


Kuala Lumpur Campus is located in Setapak and has a modern purpose-built complex. Nestled in a corner of the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur, the Campus offers students a wonderful combination of the tranquillity of a small town learning environment with big city amenities. This Campus is equipped with a broad range of facilities not only for teaching and learning purposes but also for recreational activities. This campus houses the Faculty of Engineering and Science (FES).


PERAK CAMPUS

Perak Campus, which sits on a 1300-acre piece of land donated by the Perak State Government, is located in the growing township of Bandar Barat Kampar in Perak. Strategically located off the North-South highway, Perak Campus is 190 km or a two-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. Flanked by picturesque mountains, dotted with scenic lakes and located within a growing township, Perak Campus offers a conducive, environment-friendly and community-fostering setting that enhances and fulfils the learning, teaching, research, and social needs of students and staff.
