KLANG: New Hoong Fatt Holdings Berhad (NHF) recently mentored 16 secondary students through its annual student work experience programme.
The manufacturer of automotive replacement parts started the programme in 2007.
It offers students invaluable insight into working life and helps them gain practical hands-on skills.
During their three-week stint, the students learnt about manufacturing and packaging processes, safety procedures and the machinery.
Noor Izzati Abdul Rafar, 16, of SMK Meru said NHF taught her time management skills and efficiency at the production line.
Muhammad Fauzan Aziz, 16, of SMK Sungai Kapar Indah said he would like to work at NHF while waiting for study offers.
NHF managing director Chin Jit Sin said he was pleased with the students' participation and feedback.
"We began this programme as part of our corporate social responsibility effort to give youths the chance to gain work experience during their school break."
About 70 secondary students from the Klang area have benefited from the programme.
